Born 7 October 1967 in Ludwigsburg (near Stuttgart), married, three children

Education:

  • 1988-1990: Study of Law at University of Freiburg and Bonn
  • 1989-1990: Study of Geography at University of Freiburg/Brsg.
  • 1990-1994: Study of Law at University of Bonn
  • 1994: First State Exam in Law, Cologne
  • 1995-1997: Two year practical eductaion in law (referendariat) in Stuttgart, including three month internship at Robert J. Larson Law Firm, Eugene (OR)
  • 1997-1999: Assistant at University of Applied Sciences Trier, Environment Campus Birkenfeld
  • 1999-2004: Assistant Lecturer at Department for Constitutional, Administrative and Environmental Law, Brandenburg University of Technology (Prof. Knopp)
  • 2002: Doctorate Degree at Law Faculty, University of Leipzig
  • 2004-2010: Junior Professor at Centre for Law and Administration, Brandenburg University of Technology
  • Since 2010: Full Professor, Department for Civil Law and Public Law with References to the Law of Europe and the Environment

Teaching experience in Slovakia (Akademia Istropolitana, Bratislava), Cameroon (University of Buea), Vietnam (German-Vietnamese University), Poland (University of Opole, University of Wroclaw), Ukraine (National Mining University), South Korea (Incheon University), Syria (University of Damascus), etc.

Environment-related Projects in Syria, Tunisia, Cameroon, Vietnam, South Korea (German Academic Exchange Service, gtz/giz); EU-Twinning projects Germany/Poland (2006-2008), Germany/Romania (2009), Germany/Monte Negro (since 2010); EU projects with Hungary and Italy (2008-2011), etc.

Several Functions in academic self organisation, e.g. Head of the Electorial Board of BTU (since 2007); member of the Faculty Board (since 2013); member of the Commission for Good Scientific Practice (since 2012); member of the BTU International Graduate School I (2007-2009), class E on Risk Management, and the BTU International Graduate School II (2010-2013), class D on Ecosystems and class E on Heritage Management, Responsible for the cooperation agreements between BTU and University of Buea (Cameroon), University of Parma (Italy) and – together with Prof. Michael Schmidt – University of Damascus (Syria) etc.
