JOSEF ZBORIL, M.SC.

After almost thirty years in paper industry (last seven years in the top managerial position of CEO and chairman of the board of directors of the second largest PPI Group - CR) he works as a free-lance consultant (Pulp and Paper, Management, Environment) since 1997. He takes active part in environmental efforts of both paper industry (President of the ACPP 1993 – 1997) and Czech industry in general. He is a member of the TWG on BREFs Pulp and Paper Industry and Wood Panel Industry in Sevilla.

He takes active roles in Environmental Committees of the Confederation of European Paper Industry (CEPI) and BusinessEurope in Brussels.

He takes part in strategic planning activities from corporate level to public and civic sector, including the Sustainability Development Strategy of the Czech Republic.

Membership in professional bodies:

• Member, European Economic and Social Committee, Brussels (since 2004) – sections TEN, NAT, CCMI, rapporteur of numerous opinions related to the industry and environment interaction
• Environmental Committee of Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI - Brussels)
• Environmental Committee of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC, Paris)
• Honorary Member of Confederation of Industry, Czech Republic
• Board member, Baroque Theatre (Caste Ceský Krumlov) Foundation
